“I wish to go to the Winter X-Games”
Ryley, age 17
Wish Adopted by: St. Augustine High School 2011 Walk For Wishes Team
17-year old Ryley loves Weezer, Panda Express, action video games, and watching Padres baseball. His true love and passion, however, has always been snowboarding.
Ryley was referred to the Make-A-Wish Foundation when he was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma, which he has battled courageously with the support of his tight-knit family. He has always loved snow and, after watching the last winter Olympics, was left in awe and amazement as he watched the snowboarders dominate and glide through the powdered mountain tops. So, when given the opportunity to have a wish, Ryley shared that his dream was to attend the 2011 Winter X-Games with his entire family.
Ryley’s wish came true in January, when he and his family traveled to Aspen, Colorado for a whirlwind adventure. He attended many of the Winter X-Games competitions, met athletes, and was even invited to present the medals to the winners of the women’s snow boarding competition! In between events, Ryley did some snow boarding, spent time with his family, and explored Aspen.
Ryley will cherish his wish experience forever and is already giving back to the Foundation as a Walk For Wishes team captain and wish ambassador!
