“I wish to visit the set of America’s Funniest Home Videos”
James, age 9
9-year-old James has cystic fibrosis. He needs to receive breathing treatment daily, and watching America’s Funniest Home Videos always makes his treatments bearable. James loves the show so much that he chose to visit the set of his favorite TV show as his wish.
James’s wish began when a limo pick-up from school. His classmates gathered to cheer him on as he departed for his trip to Los Angeles. The following day, James and his family arrived at the set of America’s Funniest Home Videos. James met host Tom Bergeron and helped him “warm up” for the taping. He also visited with the producers in the control room, where he got to wear a headset, call camera shots, and press the “applause” button.
James’ family says, “What an amazing experience! Make-A-Wish gave our family precious memories that we will always cherish.”
James’ wish was sponsored in memory of Rich Thomas, a dedicated volunteer and Make-A-Wish Tuna Challenge committee member.
