Make-A-Wish Foundation® of San Diego would like to thank the following companies for being our major supporters:
Our largest corporate donor, San Diego County Credit Union supports Make-A-Wish Foundation throughout the year and named us as the beneficiary of the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl. They are the presenting sponsor of our Roll Out The Barrel, Golf Classic, Walk For Wishes, and Tuna Challenge events, and also support many other programs. Their contributions have made dozens of wishes come true!
Cox Communications supports Make-A-Wish by adopting the wishes of children who live in their service area who wish for a computer. Cox both purchases the computers and provides a free year of high speed internet. Cox also supports our Kids for Wish Kids program and Wishing On A Star. Contributions are made by Cox employees and are matched by Cox through the Cox Kids Foundation.
The San Diego Chargers and the San Diego Charger Girls are longtime major supporters of Make–A–Wish Foundation of San Diego. The Junior Charger Girls program, which was honored with our 2004 Wish Maker of the Year Award, raises more than $30,000 annually for Make–A–Wish.
The San Diego Padres are a wonderful Community Partner to Make–A–Wish. Each year, hundreds of Wish Kids and their families enjoy VIP treatment at Padres games. The Padres also support us through financial contributions, prizes and event sponsorships.
Since its inception in 2005, the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl has raised more than $200,000 to make wishes come true. $1 for every ticket sold is donated to Make-A-Wish and more than 600 members of our “wish family” are treated to a VIP tailgate party and premium seats at the game. Further, Make-A-Wish kids are invited to participate in pre-game festivities, serve as honorary team captains, fetch the kick-off tee, flip the game coin, and sing the national anthem.
SeaWorld San Diego helps us host over 100 wish kids and their families each year who come to San Diego for their wish experience. Their support has made magical memories for children from all over the country. In 2010, SeaWorld will also host our Walk For Wishes!
Each year, Astec Power makes a significant contribution to the Foundation and has funded dozens of wishes.
One of the largest supporters of Make-A-Wish nationally, Macy’s raises over $9 million each year for Make-A-Wish through two holiday programs – Thanks for Sharing and Believe.
The Amazing Race for Children’s Wishes is an annual event hosted by the Coronado Yacht Club, Coronado Cays Yacht Club, and Navy Yacht Club San Diego. It is a team scavenger hunt on Coronado followed by a celebration at the Coronado Yacht Club. In just two years, this event has raised over $60,000 for Make-A-Wish!
Bridgepoint Education supports our mission by adopting wishes and sponsoring several of our fundraising events, including Walk For Wishes, and Season of Wishes. In addition, many Bridgepoint employees are involved with Make-A-Wish as volunteers.
