“I wish to meet Tony Hawk”

Colby, who’s 9, wished for nothing more than to meet his favorite skateboard star of all time, Tony Hawk. “I would like to meet Tony Hawk because he is an excellent skateboarder. I love his video games – I play them all the time. I would love to see him skateboard in person,” Colby said. Colby had been referred to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of San Diego as he was undergoing treatment for scleroderma, a chronic autoimmune disorder.
Tony Hawk and his company, located in the San Diego area, were happy to work with Make-A-Wish volunteers to create a special experience for this courageous wish kid. Colby’s day began with a luxe limousine ride to Tony Hawk’s headquarters. The skateboard star and some of his team members demonstrated tricks in the spacious training facility, much to Colby’s delight. Tony even took Colby in his wheelchair around the miniramp! Afterwards, a casual pizza party and a chance to sit down and talk to his skating idol made Colby’s day.
“Thank you, what an awesome day you set up for Colby,” his mom wrote. “He had a huge smile the whole day. Thank you for making Colby’s wish come true!”
